Physicians are increasingly being asked to tackle projects with high stakes deliverables, but don't always have the proper knowledge to lead them toward successful outcomes. This course has a unique focus on the physician’s role in project management and explores the nuances of traditional, dyad, and triad project leadership models.

Course Objectives

  • Describe the roles physicians can and should play in the management of healthcare projects
  • Identify the four phases of a project and explain their impact on project outcomes
  • Explain project team roles and their importance in the project management process
  • Recognize different project types and reasons why some projects are not labeled
  • Utilize the Triple Constraint to evaluate project scope, time, cost and quality outcomes
  • Recognize the importance of clarity and communication when working with stakeholders
  • Develop strategies to improve dyad and triad project leadership outcomes

Method Of Participation 

To complete this program successfully and claim credit, participants must follow these steps: 

  • Read the educational objectives provided on the course summary page
  • Attend the sessions or watch all the video lectures for this course (if applicable)
  • Read any course materials and complete any required activities
  • Complete the course evaluation and post-test via your dashboard on the Association website. Successful completion of a given activity’s post-test requires a minimum 75% passing score prior to claiming CME credit, with three attempts allowed
  • CME certificates will be available for printing after claiming CME credit
  • Estimated time for course completion is equivalent to the CME credit hours
