Healthcare is the most regulated of all industries. By some estimates, federal laws and regulations for healthcare occupy more than seven times the space of the entire United States tax code. This course provides a survey of key areas of law that apply to physician leaders. Traditional topics such as Stark laws and HIPAA will be covered. Less obvious areas such as duties of boards of directors have been included to prepare physicians for their future obligations as leaders. Far from an academic exercise, this course delivers necessary skills for hiring and working with counsel. This fast-paced course will entertain as it educates. This an avuncular approach to the law will help you find opportunities and avoid pitfalls in the daily tasks of physician leaders.
