Course Description

Everyone sees the world differently, and that’s why communicating with other people isn’t a one-size-fits-all affair.  Fundamentals of Physician Leadership: Communication provides actionable advice on communication styles, techniques  for having difficult conversations, adjusting to new technology in communication, and more. Examining topics like  “Assessing your own communication style and how it impacts your work environment”, “insights from best practice  communication research, data, and theory”, and “applying techniques for handling difficult conversations ”, this course is  delivered through a series of video lectures, downloadable resources and interactive moments that allow participants to  practice with the skills and insights they develop throughout the course. 

Course Objectives

• Assess your own communication style and how it impacts your work environment.
• Apply insights from best practice communication research, data, and theory.
• Learn about how you can use the DISC inventory to assess communication styles.
• Increase your level of awareness related to your communication style.
• Help you understand the communication styles of others and how you interact with them, through the lens of leadership.
