Integrating Wellness to Improve Quality: Transforming Self, Team, and the Organization

Day One

Cultivating wellness and resiliency is key to improving engagement and quality and requires conscious leadership. Day one of the Workplace Wellness Academy sets the foundation for the personal transformation and enhanced leadership capacity that is vital to promote a culture of well-being and successfully drive quality initiatives.

Through a mix of groundbreaking science, story, and experiential learning, you’ll learn a powerful neuroscience and mindfulness-based 4-Step Framework to learn new ways to master stress and balance demands. You’ll be able to transform your current mindset to that of a leadership mindset so you can make an even bigger difference and enrich the lives of all you serve.

By the end of day one you will be able to:

  • Describe the relationships between leadership, wellness, and quality
  • Recognize the scientifically validated qualities of high and low-performance leadership states
  • Describe the neuroscience of high-performance leadership
  • Apply a 4-step, mindfulness-based framework to enhance conscious leadership, resiliency, and quality

Day Two

Building on the foundation of the first day, Day two will explore strategies to lead teams under pressure when outcomes matter most. Quality is directly impacted by target fixation and the mindset of the front-line teams. Dress comfortably, roll up your sleeves, and be ready to participate.  You'll be enlightened, engaged, and inspired by the wisdom that will emerge from the room. You will learn specific strategies to motivate your teams to become invested and take ownership in outcomes. Most importantly, you will discover the incredible power of conversation and how it can transform a culture of wellness

By the end of day two you will be able to:

  • Identify strategies to lead teams to flourish under pressure.
  • Use an adaptive problem-solving strategy to implement change (rather than a pre-defined rigid solution.)
  • Apply three types of thinking to more effectively solve problems and implement change.
  • Recognize the 4 mindsets seen under pressure and understand strategies to promote the Thriver's Mindset to improve quality.

Day Three

Quality Improvement (QI) is a business imperative at the individual, team and organizational level in healthcare. The nexus between QI and resiliency is increasingly apparent and they feed each other – individuals, teams and organizations that understand how to grow wellness also more readily improve care and care improvement connects to core values and professionalism that supports resiliency. QI utilizes a foundation that takes advantage of social psychology principles and implementation science to re-design systems that accelerate the adoption of effective practices. During Day 3 you will dive into the discovery of improvement and how to make QI infectious with your colleagues. Old school QI built around bad apples is replaced with the tools and methods to wrap a team or even an entire organization around worthy goals that engage front-line clinicians.

By the end of day three you will be able to:

  • Grow the improvement capacity in your team or organization
  • Describe the science of improvement
