Aspen Program for Ethical Health Care Leadership AAPL Pre-event – American Association for Physician Leadership
Live Courses
10/07 - 10/07

Health care is becoming more integrated, complicated and personalized than ever before. This means forward-thinking physician leaders must adapt to environments governed by stakeholders who hold varying – and sometimes conflicting – values, responsibilities and expectations.

This one-day meeting of the AAPL Vanguard Group will be held in conjunction with the Aspen Ethical Leadership Program, and it will focus on challenges facing physician leaders in two critical areas:

• Managing the ethical tensions that can arise when physician and non-physician leaders hold conflicting values or priorities

• Navigating ethical dilemmas that often arise in responding to natural disasters

During the session, participants will aim to produce a pair of Vanguard Group statements that address each of these complex challenges. These statements will provide principled, practical and ethical guidance to physician leaders facing these dilemmas.

Ultimately, the session will help attendees achieve ethical and operational efficiencies, provide valuable guidance to AAPL members who are unable to attend and grow attendees' professional influence locally, regionally and nationally.
