Fundamentals of Physician Leadership: Finance

Course Description This comprehensive financial management course is fundamental and provides a solid understanding of key concepts and strategies for effective decision-making in independent practice settings and affiliated situations with hospitals and private equity. Topics include simplified financial statements, revenue cycle intricacies, expense and overhead management, ratios and benchmarking, types of financing, accounting methodologies, and provider compensation. By exploring these areas, you'll gain the tools to evaluate your practice’s financial health, maximize revenue, control expenses, and optimize resource allocation. You'll also learn to interpret financial data, including accounting methodologies like cash versus accrual. By the course's end, you'll possess the necessary skills to make informed financial decisions and contribute to the economic success of your organization. This initial course provides comprehensive education on various financial management processes, with the following courses available in the series drilling down on specific subsets.
