Value Based Purchasing

Value-based purchasing continues to roll out in waves, now with the MACRA law and physicians challenged to meet the APM alternative or work for MIPS compliance. Here, we’ll track pay-for-performance in medicine from its beginning 15 years ago and focus on the dual forces of improving quality while decreasing cost in health care delivery. The evolution of HIT is a key component of achieving both aims, and its possibilities and pitfalls will be discussed. Through interaction, collaboration and lecture, participants will grasp the context and most pressing issues for physicians today. Leaders will gain specific, practical takeaways to help physicians master the challenges inherent in the value-based purchasing model.
