As a physician leader, your communication skills are critical from one-on-one engagement to public speaking in front audiences. At some point in your professional life, someone will ask you (or you may volunteer) to give a presentation. You may be honored and ecstatic, or, like many people, you may feel nervous and terrified at the prospect. The truth is, while most people are much better at public speaking than they think they are, no matter what your comfort level is, there is always room for improvement. This course will provide you with the key skills to reduce your anxiety and improve your performance. Over the course of four modules, you will learn how to develop the mission of your talk, identify, and engage your audience, organize, and design the content so it is informative and interesting, and practice and perfect your delivery. At the end of each module, you will apply what you have learned to prepare for a professional talk of your own. As a physician leader, your message needs to be communicated, and your audience needs to learn from you! This course will teach you how to communicate your knowledge with confidence and clarity.
