Fundamentals of Physician Leadership: Influence

This course is designed to help learners develop deeper clarity about the nature, scope, and utility of emotional 

intelligence, specifically as it relates to physician mindfulness and relationships in the healthcare context. Emotional intelligence encompasses a wide range of skills that not only reflect one’s ability to process emotions, but even more importantly, their ability to communicate with, manage, and influence others. In essence, emotional intelligence is all about optimizing relationships; and seeing as the functionality of healthcare systems rely solely on people, relationship is vital to what we do as physician leaders.

Maintenance of Certification

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to: -

7 Medical Knowledge MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program; and

7 MOC points in the American Board of Surgery’s Continuous Certification (MOC) program.

The participant should inform AAPL by emailing Customer Service of their wish to obtain MOC, granting AAPL permission to report their learner data to ACCME for the purpose of awarding ABIM or ABS MOC credit
