Course Objectives

By the end of this course, you should be able to do each of the following:

- Identify the components of value-based healthcare, including the care models, payment models, and economic constructs that differentiate its characteristics from other healthcare delivery models.
- Describe and apply strategies for developing value-based care systems.
- Assess organizational readiness for a transition to value-based care, including culture, change management, and other organizational capabilities and assets.
- Describe components necessary for transforming a healthcare delivery system toward a value-based care system.
- Analyze the range of payment models available for transitioning to value-based care.
- Describe the aspects of contract negotiations necessary for successful value-based payment models.
- Identify the tactics necessary to leverage strategic partnerships and community ecosystems in order to reinvest and address social determinants of health.
