Abstract

Employee commitment is pivotal to the success of healthcare organizations, influencing trust, loyalty, and productivity. High levels of commitment among employees foster a positive work environment where individuals willingly contribute their time, energy, and talents. Conversely, low commitment leads to cynicism and disengagement. Commitment comprises behavioral, emotional, and rational components and is often driven by reciprocal investments between employees and employers. To assess and enhance employee commitment, healthcare leaders can use a variety of strategies, including clear communication, values-based hiring, career planning, and leadership practices that emphasize care, ownership, security, and accountability. Ultimately, committed leadership is essential for fostering a culture of commitment within the organization.
